Upon your first visit, you will be asked to fill out a brief health history. Â I tailor your massage to you. Â It's important to know, for example, if you are comfortable with deep or light pressure; if there are any injuries, pain or achiness that you are experiencing at that time and if you are under a doctor's care. All of your information is kept confidential.
The most common session is a 60 minute or full body massage. Â It encompasses the head, neck, arms, legs, back of legs and full back. During this session, I generally use a combination of hot packs and cold packs on the neck, eyes and back.Â
For the times when an hour is too long and you need more than brief focused work on a chronic pain site, I offer the in between 45 minute session.
Many times, clients are looking for focused treatment; more commonly on the back and neck. Â There are times that clients are looking to address an injury or recover from a surgical procedure. This may only require a 30 minute session, which can be very effective.Â
There may be times that a new taping or further taping is all you would prefer between massage appointments. Â These visits could range from 5 minutes to 20 minutes. Â Please wear or bring loose sport shorts and tank top or sports bra for this session.
The Kinesio Taping Method is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while allowing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. It is used to successfully treat a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological and medical conditions. Both Kinesio® Tex Tape and the training protocol have shown results that would have been unheard of using older methods and materials.
